Testssl is an excellent script for checking your SSL/TLS configuration. Similar to the also excellent SSL Labs, however as it is run as a local script, I find it useful to use on internal test boxes when updating TLS config.

Creating an Alias

Because I'm lazy (or is that efficient) I create and alias to call the script without having to remeber the path. Update ~/.bash_aliases with:

alias testssl="~/Documents/git/testssl.sh/testssl.sh"

Reload the alias:

$ source ~/.bash_aliases
Basic Usage

Run all tests against a hostname:

$ testssl hostname

View help:

$ testssl --help
